Running a food business while working a 9-5 A chat with Kippa user, Genevieve Chikaodi

Talking to Kippa users is extremely fun and eye-opening; you get to meet different people and talk to them about their work lives and much more. The call sometimes could feel like talking to a friend or mentor; it's just so lovely to see other people's outside views on many things. For example, Miss Genevieve; her views on work and side hustle are peculiar and interesting.

Can we meet you?

My name is Anyanwu Genevieve Chikaodi, I reside in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and I work as a marketing sales representative 9-5, and by 7:00, I run a food confectionery.

What is your business called, and where is it located?

Its called Chineve Resources, it is located at Alex Estate, Rumunduru by Eneka Road. Port Harcourt, Rivers State; patronize me, guys, lol.

Can you tell me a bit about yourself and the business you run?

I run a confectionery food business; I sell packaged chin chin and roasted groundnuts. It's a moderate-sized business, not as big as I would want it to just yet.

How long has Chineve resources been running for?

I started running my business entirely in 2020, and I recently got approved by NAFDAC, so I think my business is relatively successful.

Amazing, how is a business so far?

Currently, the economy is dealing with us, but I think it's sometimes good and isn't good, but I'm pulling through.

What does your day look like?

My workday is unpredictable most of the time, and I work as a sales representative at a firm. So my average workday means all hands on deck till around when I clock out from work, and then it's back to my other business.

But I usually have to be up as early as 7:00 am, and by like 5:00- 7:00 pm again, I'm back to shop.

Do you find running a side hustle challenging?

No, not all. I have some employees that sell for me, and with Kippa, I can also monitor my business with ease from the comfort of my office chair.

What comes to mind when you think of the Kippa App?

I found an ad with Kippa and downloaded it immediately. With my experience as a sales rep, we tend to go through several paid accounting software and apps; And so when I saw the Kippa app with all the features we were paying for at work for free, I quickly jumped at the opportunity to use it and what enticed me the most was that it was free.

It felt really good to use an app like that for free without any stress whatsoever. I could track my debts and everything. So far, Kippa has been fantastic for me.

Wow! Who was the last person you told about Kippa?

I have told many people about Kippa because it's so enjoyable for me, so it only felt fitting to share with other people.

What has your experience been like with the app?

It's been so easy to use; I have taught all my employees how to use it; I love that I can be logged in on several devices with the same account. It's been a smooth journey so far.

What is your favourite feature on the Kippa App?

The inventory, I love it so much. When I see that money in the tab, I'm always happier.

Finally, what advice would you give to any business that just started using Kippa?

It's an excellent idea to have a side hustle regardless of what kind of job you do during the daytime. It's always good to find somewhere to fall back on for extra cash. Because what if the job goes?

It would help if you gave it a chance, and it would help you grow more independent honestly.
